3d Corporate Event Planning

3d Event Planning for Corporate Events.

The important thing about this 3d event plan was to demonstrate how the event itself was going to be dual purpose. By day it was to be a standard corporate conference with a Picasso themed stage backdrop. But by evening the stage was to make way for a band and the front tables would be cleared for a dancefloor to be laid. 3d animation is an excellent tool for showing such transformations before committing to the budget.

This awards ceremony was to be a major event for a large corporate client. The project manager from the events management company had a few specifics that they wanted to demonstrate to the client beforehand and so commissioned this 3d animation.

Firstly it was important to show how the seating arrangement would work in the event space so the 3d model was built to scale. Second, the event was being filmed and the monitors were to show the camera view and alternate with the event sponsors’ logos. Thirdly, the lighting was to use the moving gobo projection effect simulated here.

This was a little installation event for the Discovery Channel that was to be tucked into the side entrance foyer of the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC). The entrance was entirely made of glass panels so the plan was to cover these panels with a see though material that, with the daylight shining through, made them appear like lightboxes. The 3d model was able to show the effect prior to installation.

The juice bar was also to be lit from within so the whole space had quite a zingy feel to it.

The peculiar shapes in the centre of the exhibition are kinetic sculptures, which given time we could have animated.

This was an event with a difference. The structure containing it was inflatable and is manufactured using PVC-coated high-performance fabric. A vinyl canopy is then tensioned over the top.

The crucial question here was how the event would be lit and so a 3d plan was commissioned. There was a certain amount of natural light would filter through during the day, but the event also continued after daylight hours so it was important to be able to demonstrate how the exhibits would look day and night. The 3d model was able to remove the ambient light from outside for the night scene.
